HOW WE CREATE OUR BEEF TALLOW SKINCARE PRODUCTS
We triple wet render our beef tallow by hand from local hormone free, antibiotic free suet. A true labor of love, this process results in pure white unscented tallow. We then create our signature body butter with just the right amount of tallow, local raw beeswax, organic cocoa butter, shea butter and grape seed oil. Scented with therapeutic grade essential oils, our unique scents are scentsational and beneficial to mood as well as skin health.
WHAT IS BEEF TALLOW?
Tallow is a powerful moisturizer packed full of yummy skin nutrients, essential fatty acids and antioxidants that benefit skin from deep within. For those not familiar with tallow, and its amazing skin benefits, first know that it has been used for thousands of years, is super good for skin and is edible. Simply put, Tallow is a hard
fatty substance that is rendered from pure animal fat. It is clean and purified, and can be stored for long
periods of time without the need for refrigeration (although it should be kept in an airtight container to prevent oxidation). It’s generally rendered from beef fat and the texture resembles a hybrid of coconut oil and butter.
Tallow is chuck full of the same fats or lipids found in healthy, supple human skin. Lipids are found in abundance in the membrane of every cell in our bodies. They are responsible for the free flowing of liquids (aka moisture) in and out of our cells .Beef tallow skincare is loaded with vitamins A, D & K and antioxidants. Including the coveted wrinkle fighter Vitamin E. It's known to promote rejuvenation of the skin by fighting free radicals that can cause wrinkles. Tallow and sebum (the oil in our skin) share many of the same lipids or fats in similar concentrations. Some believe that it is this similarity that allows tallow to absorb deep within the layers of the skin.
